Welcome to the Magical World of Author Virginia McKevitt
I started reading when I was about four years old. I have a sister who is ten years older than I am and she loved to read to us little ones (I come from a family of eight) all the time. She was the one who taught me to read.
That is when my love for fantasy really began. My imagination was always off the charts, and reading books like Little Red Riding Hood, Snow White, and Cinderella, only added fuel to the fire. Snow White is the first book I remember reading by myself. I carried that little book around with me until it fell apart.
As I got older my taste changed, but not my hunger for fantasy or reading. I would write little stories about fairies, dragons, wizards, and kings. My teen years were vampires and the baddies that run around today. It’s funny how the circle continues.
I like stories that have a lot going on from one page to the next and I hope I am giving that to my readers also. I am a character driven kind of reader, and writer. I like a strong plot but if I don’t get into the characters, it’s hard to stay with the story.
I write fantasy, with a romantic flavor, but I want a lot of action and mystery for my readers. I don’t write erotica or occult type books. It’s just not me, but I do give you a healthy peak and you can take it the rest of the way with your imagination.
Reading is the door to an escape from our daily lives. It gives me great pleasure to hand you the key.

A scene from Fracture The Secret Enemy Saga~book one
Tegrin tossed and turned in sleeplessness. When he did fall asleep his dreams were fitful, full of pain and pleasure. Natiana was in his bed but when he looked into her face it was Alexasia whose body caressed his. In anger he would strangle her only to find Natiana dead in his arms.
He woke up in tangled sheets and tangled thoughts. He laid back down on the bed and closed his eyes, drifting once more into a fitful sleep. He dreamed again, but this time it was a different voice who called his name.
He was surrounded by darkness that even his cat like eyes could not penetrate. A female voice, far off, faint. He struggled to make out who it was. There it was again. This time he recognized the voice. Kristina was calling his name.
He closed his eyes. That sense was useless to him here and stood still in the blackness, letting his excellent hearing take over. She called to him again. He followed the sound of her voice.
Tegrin felt a light touch on his bare chest.
“You found me.” Kristina whispered. “I thought I was lost forever in this place, alone.”
He could feel her arms around his waist. Her hair against his chest was soft and smelled like flowers. He tried to pull her arms from around him but she would not let go.
“Please, I’m afraid. It feels like I’ve been here a long time and I don’t know how to go back. Maybe I’m dead. The 9 spider bit me.”
“What spider, girl? What are you talking about?”
“The black widow in my father’s box. There was a letter and her. I thought she was dead but she wasn’t. She’s some kind of magic ring, I think, but she bit me, and now I’m here.”
Tegrin realized what was happening to her. “You are not dead Kristina. You are between the physical and the spiritual world. The black widow is the ancient weaver of your clan. She is waking the Seer in you, but the human part of you cannot make sense of it and is confused.”
He pulled her arms from around him. “You need to fight your human side to return to the physical world. You are a true warrior, Kristina. I have seen it. Embrace who you are. Take your gift. Make it your own.”
He could feel her rapid breath on his arm begin to slow to a normal pace. He knew there was a battle going on behind those green eyes but he couldn’t help her thru this. She would have to do this on her own.
“Alright Tegrin.”
She closed her eyes and envisioned herself lying on the sofa in her living room. Her voice was moving further away but he could still make out what her last words were.
“Come and get me. I’m coming to Patwain.”
